I DO!

Since I last blogged a lot has gone on!! I have been through a LOT of training and have a lot left to learn!! My first day I had to take yet another physical agility test...did better in all aspects! Then I got sworn it!! So I officially crossed over! YAY! Tuesday I got to get tased..yeah it sucks..but I wasn't near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Wednesday I had use of force training, and Thursday I was given my gun and firearms training. I can hit the target but I'm still getting used to it! At least I can hit what I'm aiming at!! Friday was a day spent doing necessary paperwork and online training. Then Monday I spent the day doing paperwork and went to get fitted for my uniform! Tuesday I had firearms training again! Then Wednesday I worked second shift on patrol! I got to hear my number called out on the radio for the first time!! Everyone I work with is great!! I'm lovin the new job!! Now I'm about to start the last week before it's off to the academy and to be quite honest I don't want to go. I think it will be fun and a great learning experience but I am goin to miss everyone so much! Jason catches me cryin about it every now and again!! :) The sooner I start the sooner I will get it over with!! :) This is a picture of me getting sworn in!! I now swear to protect you all :)

Not Much New

I am slowly but surely figuring this thing out. I won't have a lot to report until I go to the academy..or perhaps until I start next week!! Recently I have gotten really frustrated w/ the whole women law enforcement thing. It's kinda crazy!! I found out that you can buy women's law enforcement boots in des moines..but you can only select from 2 pairs..and they are ugly! I know it's not a fashion contest...but they don't look like duty boots. So I had to get mine on the internet!! I probably could have waited but I'm sure I will have some boot size issues and with Christmas close...I didn't want to wait for long shipping! I also found out that they really don't make women's law enforcement gloves...So I had to find some sorta like em. The men's x-small were too big for me!! Other than that..nothing new to report..I have just been cleaning and waiting. The countdown is on!! As of Dec 15, 2008 I will be officially crossing over from civilian to sworn (1 pm to be exact). Well, that's it for now..back to laundry!! These are my boots..do they look cool????

This No Job Thing is Kinda Cool

So...I have really been up to NOTHING!! I am about to finish up my school work and stuff! I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving and got a ton of stuff!! So that was fun! I have purchased my undershirts, towels, and watch for the academy...still looking for boots, and I'm about to buy some gloves. It is really insane how much money this stuff costs! My official start date is December 15. As of that day, I will officially be a sworn police officer. Isn't that crazy?? I will be attending the academy with Jason Ritter (Officer Ritter); hope he is cool. We will be the only two there from ISU!! Anyways, I am going to take a test now for Con Law...I only have 3 more to go then I'm all done with school!! Oh, I guess I can update you on the working out too since I haven't much to say...I am up to 2.25 miles now...it gets easier every week I think!!
